About Us
Who We Are- We are people touched by homelessness who want all of our community members back in a home. We are survivors and thrivers and advocates for the policies and programs that helped us survive. Most of us have immigrant roots. Some of us have grandparents who came here 100- 125 years ago with nothing but hands to work and hope. They were welcomed into immigrant communities that gave them a room, contacts, and resources until they were settled. We have a history and role models for neighborliness. We are grateful that today our state is taking the problem of homelessness seriously, and we are with you until homelessness in CT is no more.
What We Do- We solicit stories from people that highlight their steps to stability. We share and promote those programs and policies that we know work.
What We Want: resources to build a safe and sustainable future for all. Jobs or Income? Affordable Housing? Affordable, accessible healthcare? Affordable, relevant education? Mental health care, not incarceration? Come to a Meeting on Homeless Memorial Day and help us focus/direct our new organization.
